About EE Run

EE Run is a platform for reaching out to the masses to promote green lifestyle, especially using energy efficiently.  It began in 2011, and has been organised biannually since. What differs the EE Run from the others is apart from the run, there are also exhibition booths promoting energy efficiency and green lifestyle, and games and quizzes to make it more fun. With over 1,500 participants during its last round, EE Run has received numerous positive feedbacks, from the participants and from the social media.

Brief History of EE Run

The history of EE Run began in 2011, where it was called the Larian Tenaga 2011. It was held on 3 December 2011 in conjunction of the 10th anniversary of the Energy Commission.  Due to the overwhelming response, the run was once again organised two years later, with a new branding, “Energy Efficiency Run” or also known as “EE Run”.

Held on 7 December 2013, it was aimed to promote efficient use of energy among the public, where several programmes were also held in conjunction with the run, including mini exhibition, interactive session, and an exchange programme where the public could exchange their used light bulbs with a new energy-efficient Compact Fluorescent Light (CFL), for free. The run was joined by 1,031 participants, including students and civil servants.

It has since been made a biannual event, where it was once again organised on 14 November 2015. The EE Run 2015 marked another milestone where the participation was also opened to ASEAN countries in conjunction with the Malaysia Chairmanship of the 33rd ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meetings on the same year. The number of runners also had been raised to 1,500 participants.
