Programs Qualifications

PROGRAM  I  (3 YEARS)
This courses conducted for a three (3) years by these sequence:

  1. One (1) year  in institution with practical training
  2. Eighteen (18) month industrial training in an industries/factories registered with Energy Commission
  3. Six (6) month in institution for refresher course and final exam.
  4. Attendant course in the institution not less than 80%.
  5. Attendant for industrial training not less than 90%
  1. Basic requirement

PROGRAM  II   (18 MONTH)
This courses are conducted for a eighteen (18) months by these sequence:

  1. Ten (10) Month in institution with practical training
  2. Four (4) months industrial training in an industries/factories registered with Energy Commission.
  3. Four (4) months in institution for refresher course and final exam
  4. Attendant course in the institution not less than 80%.
  5. Attendant for industrial training not less than 90%
  1. Basic requirement.
  2. Experience:
    i.     Possess not less than 3 years working experience in an environment involving operation of electrical equipment and has experiences in controlling live equipment including 1 year experience in installation and low voltage aerial line maintenance, and
    ii.    Possess complete log book based on 3 years working experience in an environment involving operation of electrical equipment and controlling live equipment including installation works and low voltage aerial line maintenance validated by a competent person and the employer,
    OR
    iii.   Possess a Chargeman AO certificate of competency at least 1 year working experience in low voltage aerial line operation,  and
    iv.   Possess complete log book based on 1 year working experience in low voltage aerial line maintenance validated by a competent person and the employer.
    OR
    v.    Possess a Wireman certificate of competency (PW1/PW2/PW3/PW4) not less than 2 years working experience
    (Note: 1 year working experience in an environment involving operation of electrical equipment and controlling live equipment and 1 year working experience in low voltage aerial line maintenance), and
    vi.   Possess complete log book based on 2 years working experience in an environment involving operation of electrical equipment and controlling live equipment including low voltage aerial line maintenance validated by a competent person and the employer.
