  • Current Role: Chairman of the Energy Commission (appointed on 1 January 2026).
  • Experience: Served as Secretary-General of Treasury, Ministry of Finance (MoF) (2020–2022) and Head of Secretariat, Federal Statutory Bodies Rationalisation Office, Prime Minister’s Department (2024–2026); held senior leadership roles in MOF, including Deputy Secretary-General (Policy), Deputy Secretary-General (Investment), and Under-Secretary for Government Investment Companies (GIC);  Former Chairman of Retirement Fund (Incorporated) (KWAP) and Public Sector Home Financing Board (LPPSA); Former Director for Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH), PETRONAS and Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB).
  • Early Career: Began in 1994 as an Assistant Director in the Economic Planning Unit (EPU) before moving to the Anti-Corruption Agency in 1997 and Public Service Department in 2003.
  • Education: Master’s in Economics from Hiroshima University, Japan; Diploma in Public Administration (DPA) from National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN);  Bachelor in Economics (Hons) from University Malaya (UM).
