Must televisions sold be affixed with the Energy Commission's energy efficiency label?
Televisions measuring 70 inches and below (Plasma, LED, LCD and CRT types) are equipment regulated under the Minimum Energy Performance Standard (MEPS), and these televisions must be affixed with an energy efficiency label. In this regard, consumers can choose more energy-efficient equipment based on the number of stars labelled.
Eight (8) energy-efficient equipment items also regulated under MEPS are air conditioners, refrigerators, domestic fans, washing machines, lamps, microwave ovens, rice cookers and chest freezers. Further information on the scope of each of these electrical equipment items can be obtained via the following link: https://www.st.gov.my/ms/web/download/listing/150
