What are the requirements for conducting an energy audit and submitting an energy audit report under the EECA 2024?
Energy consumers are required to appoint a Registered Energy Auditor (REA) to conduct an energy audit and submit an energy audit report in accordance with the Guidelines on Energy Audit Report issued by the Commission. The first energy audit report must be submitted within one year from the date of notice. Subsequent energy audit reports must be submitted every five years, or within the period specified in an exemption notice, where applicable.
As specified in paragraph 4.1.12 of the Guidelines on Energy Audit Report, the equipment or systems audited shall cover at least 80% of the energy-consuming systems identified in the facility’s connected load inventory, covering both electrical and thermal systems, where applicable. Priority shall be given to systems, equipment or processes that contribute significantly to the facility’s energy consumption.
